SYNOPSIS
Middle School. A time of self-discovery and dread. Periods. Sex Ed. One Direction. At St. Bernadette Catholic School in Davie, Florida, eight Catholic choir girls navigate their religious beliefs, peer pressure, and friendships all while going through puberty. But when two best friends confess their feelings for each other, questions of sexuality, morality, and trust are at stake. Will their friends accept them for who they are? Will they still go to heaven? Or will $h!t hit the fan? With raunchy humor and 2013 pop-culture references, this comedy celebrates young queer love and girlhood.

the seed

Kali Clougherty is a recovering Catholic School Girl, having attended one for 10 years throughout elementary and middle school. The only thing that got her through that tough time were her friends and singing in Choir. During the height of the pandemic in 2020, lots of time spent at home led Kali to come out as bisexual and find a creative outlet in their writing. Hence, Catholic School Girlz was born. This story is inspired by her time in middle school as a budding bisexual, theatre-loving, One-Direction obsessed weirdo.
